My First Love

“I saw her face in the morning light,
For me it was love, at first sight.
The way she touched her golden hair,
I knew I couldn’t help, but care.

I saw her every morning at the park,
There had to be some kind of spark.
This continued, for months & days,
But I walked along my lonely ways.

My love for her, would magnify soon,
If I could, I’d take her to the moon.

On paper my feelings I boldly poured,
It was the moment when emotions soared.

They rays of the morning sun connected us.
Courage, and strength, I gather to meet her.
Walking fast I gathered my pace,
Against time I had to race.

As I reached her home, so close,
The heartbeats in my body rose.
Alas! She was gone forever!
Walking through the empty lane,
My heart could feel nothing but pain.”
